An exciting opportunity to work with Martin Simmons Architects, one of the most renowned architectural firms in the Waterloo Region as they raced the clock to repurpose this industrial building located in the downtown core of Kitchener. The building lacked character and certainly did not reflect the impeccable standards of Martin Simmons Architects. We were tasked with working within the confines of the existing structure to create an exciting work environment that reflected the modern sensibilities of the award-winning firm.
Working within a tight schedule, Integribuild efficiently implemented a clean, modern design that emphasized simplicity with a touch of sophistication. In order to effectively transform the original building into one deserving of Martin Simmons Architects, we had to install new electrical and mechanical systems, a building envelope, and a contemporary open-concept space for the office and studio. We installed all new clerestory windows along the second floor in order to allow northern light to diffuse into the core of the second floor. The bold design and clean modern façade of this unique office have quickly transformed a nondescript industrial site into one of the more ground-breaking landmarks in downtown Kitchener.
